عُقد صباح اليوم اجتماع مجلس جامعة السويس برئاسة أ.د.أشــــــــــرف حنيجــــــــــل رئيس الجامعة، وبحضور السيد اللواء أ.ح طارق الشاذلي، محافظ السويس، أ.د. عبدالله رمضان نائب المحافظ.

حيث استقبل رئيس الجامعة السيد المحافظ مرحبًا به، وقد أعرب “الشاذلي” عن سعادته بحضور الاجتماع ولقاء السادة أعضاء المجلس، وفي كلمته أكد السيد المحافظ على ثوابت الدولة المصرية في مختلف القضايا، مؤكدا على أن قرارات مصر تنبع من ايمانها بقضايا مصالحها ومصلحة محيطها العربي والاقليمي، ولن ترضخ لأي ضغوط أو تقبل تنازلات، وشدد على دور الجميع لاسيما في قضية الوعي المجتمعي، وضرورة توجيه السادة عمداء الكليات وأعضاء المجلس وأعضاء هيئة التدريس للطلاب بضرورة نشر الوعي بحقيقة الوضع الراهن وعدم الانسياق وراء الشائعات، مؤكدًا أن طلاب الجامعة يمثلون عينة ممثلة لكافة المواطنين في السويس.

وفي حديثه أشار “رئيس الجامعة” إلى أن تعليق تمويل برنامج الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية لن يؤثر على المشاريع المتعلقة بالجامعة مثل مركز التطوير المهني أو مركز رعاية الطلاب ذوي الإعاقة، مؤكداً أن الجامعة ستتحمل كافة أوجه الرعاية سواء مادية أو غيرها لهذه المشاريع من مواردها الذاتية، وذلك وفقاً لقرارات اجتماع المجلس الأعلى للجامعات برئاسة الدكتور محمد أيمن عاشور، وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، والذي أكد على تحمل الجامعات المصرية كافة مسؤوليات المشروعات والطلاب المستفيدين من المنح الأمريكية.

ثم تحدث “حنيجــــــــــل” أيضًا عن مشروع جامعة السويس الأهلية المزمع افتتاحها العام المقبل، مشيراً إلى أن مقر الجامعة سيكون مميزًا وقادرًا على تلبية الاحتياجات ذات الصلة، وأن المقر الدائم في مدينة السويس الجديدة على مساحة ٤٠ فدانًا ليقدم خدمة أكاديمية متميزة ومناسبة للتطوير الكبير في سوق العمل.

وأوضح “رئيس الجامعة” أن الجامعة الأهلية ستضم تخصصات الطب وطب الأسنان وهندسة البترول والهندسة والثروة السمكية والإعلام والسياسة والاقتصاد، مما سيوفر فرص تعليمية متنوعة وفريدة تتناسب مع احتياجات سوق العمل في المحافظة ومصر بشكل عام.

وأعلن حنيجــــــــــل خلال الاجتماع أيضا عن تقدم وضع الجامعة في تصنيف “ويبومتركس” الاسباني بمقدار (١٣١)مركزًا مشيرًا إلى أن ذلك يرجع إلى كفاءة وقوة مستوى البحث العلمي في الجامعة، وقدرة البوابة الالكترونية للجامعة في نشر هذه الكفاءة البحثية على المستوى الدولي.

كما أكد “رئيس الجامعة” على أن أوجه التعاون بين الجامعة والمحافظة كثيرة ومتنوعة، حيث أقترح مبادرة قوافل هندسية من الجامعة لتقديم كافة أنماط الدعم الهندسي لكافة المنشآت بالمحافظة، وذلك جنبا إلى جنب مع استمرار القوافل الطبية لكافة أبناء المحافظة، لاسيما ذوي الهمم.

كما اقترح “حنيجــــــــــل” دراسة ضم أعضاء هيئة التدريس والعاملين بالجامعة لمشروع التأمين الصحي الشامل بالإضافة للتأمين الصحي الحالي لمنسوبي الجامعة، ووعد السيد المحافظ بدراسة المقترح لتوفير أفضل رعاية صحية للجميع.

ثم تناول باقي جدول أعمال المجلس، والذي تضمن موضوعات تخص شئون الطلاب والدراسات العليا وترقيات أعضاء هيئة التدريس.

This morning, the Suez University Council convened under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of the University, with the presence of Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez, and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ramadan, Deputy Governor.

At the outset, the University President welcomed the Governor, who expressed his pleasure in attending the meeting and engaging with the council members. In his speech, the Governor reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast principles on various issues, emphasizing that Egypt’s decisions are guided by its national interests and regional commitments. He stressed that Egypt will not succumb to pressures or make concessions. Furthermore, he underscored the collective responsibility, particularly in fostering societal awareness. He urged the university deans, council members, and faculty to educate students about the realities of the current situation and to resist being misled by rumors. He pointed out that university students are a representative sample of the broader population in Suez.

In his address, the University President stated that the suspension of USAID program funding would not affect university-related projects such as the Career Development Center or the Student Disability Support Center. He assured that the university would assume full financial and logistical responsibility for these initiatives using its own resources. This decision aligns with the resolutions of the Supreme Council of Universities, chaired by Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasized that Egyptian universities would fully support projects and students benefiting from U.S. grants.

Heniegal also discussed the Suez National University Project, scheduled to open next year. He highlighted that the university’s new campus would be well-equipped to meet relevant academic and developmental needs. The permanent campus, located in New Suez City and spanning 40 acres, aims to provide high-quality academic services aligned with evolving labor market demands.

The University President elaborated that the national university would offer programs in medicine, dentistry, petroleum engineering, general engineering, fisheries, media, political science, and economics. These disciplines are designed to provide diverse and unique educational opportunities tailored to the labor market needs in both the governorate and Egypt as a whole.

During the meeting, Heniegal also announced that Suez University had advanced 131 places in the Spanish Webometrics Ranking, attributing this progress to the university’s robust research output and the efficiency of its online portal in showcasing its academic excellence internationally.

Additionally, the University President emphasized the strong and diverse collaborations between the university and the governorate. He proposed launching engineering convoys from the university to provide various forms of technical and engineering support for all public facilities in the governorate. This initiative would complement the ongoing medical convoys, which continue to serve residents, especially people with disabilities.

Furthermore, Heniegal suggested studying the integration of university faculty and staff into the Comprehensive Health Insurance Program, in addition to their current health coverage. The Governor welcomed the proposal and pledged to explore its feasibility to ensure the best possible healthcare services for all university affiliates.

The meeting proceeded with discussions on the remaining agenda items, including student affairs, postgraduate studies, and faculty promotions.
