فى قرية شبرا أوسيم، بمركز كوم حمادة بمحافظة البحيرة وفي 15مارس 1928 ولد ثعلب المخابرات المصرية محمد رفعت جبريل هو ضابط مصري حمل رتبة فريق أول
رفعت جبريل هو عسكري وسياسي مصري، شغل منصب وكيل أول جهاز المخابرات العامة، ورئيس هيئة الأمن القومي. بدأ حياته العملية ضابطا في الجيش المصري في سلاح المدفعية، وانضم إلى تنظيم الضباط الأحرار قبيل ثورة يوليو.
لقب بالثعلب لدوره في القبض على عدد من الجواسيس في عدة عمليات أشهرها «فؤاد محرم» «فولفغانغ لوتز» «المقدم فاروق الفقي وهبة سليم»، وتم تحويل قصة العملية الأخيرة إلى فيلم الصعود إلى الهاوية وأيضاً له عملية أخرى تحولت لمسلسل تليفزيوني حمل اسم الثعلب وقام بأداء دور رفعت جبريل الممثل نور الشريف.
شغل منصب رئيس هيئة الأمن القومي.
وكيل أول المخابرات العامة المصرية (أحيل إلى المعاش وهو في منصب وكيل أول المخابرات العامة في 16 يناير 1986 طبقاً لقرار رئيس الجمهورية رقم 9 لسنة 1986.

القبض على باروخ مرزاحي
باروخ مزراحي ضابط مخابرات إسرائيلي طُلب منه أن يقوم بالسفر إلى اليمن تحت غطاء دبلوماسي كويتي واشتبه فيه بعض ضباط الأمن في اليمن وقاموا بإلقاء القبض علية. وعلى الفور تم الاتصال بجهاز المخابرات المصرية.
سافر إلى هناك ضابط المخابرات المصري رفعت جبريل واستلمه منهم. قامت إسرائيل بإرسال وحدات كامله وراء هذا الضابط المصري لإنقاذ الجاسوس وقد عبر الضابط المصري رفعت جبريل عن طريق الصحراء والوديان إلى أن وصل إلى البحر وهناك تم إلتقاطه بغواصه مصرية وكانت وراءه المقاتلات الاسرئيليه وبالرغم من ذلك لم يستطعوا إنقاذ جاسوسهم. رفضت المخابرات المصرية مقايضته بالعقيد السوفيتي، وضابط الكي جي بي الشهير “يوري لينوف” المعتقل في “إسرائيل” بتهمة التخابر، والتجسس لصالح المعسكر الأحمر. لكن في 3 مارس 1974، تمت مبادلته بـ 65 فدائي فلسطيني من سكان الضفة، والقطاع.
استدراج الجاسوسة هبة سليم
قام فيه بالقبض على العميلة المصرية الأصل هبة سليم باستدراجها إلى مطار عربي، ومن ثم ترحيلها إلى القاهرة لتحاكم وتعدم بعد اعترافها بالتجسس لصالح إسرائيل
اختراق موقع للموساد بأوروبا
أما أخطر العمليات التي قام بها على الإطلاق، فهو نجاحه قي زرع أجهزة تنصت دقيقة داخل أحد المقار السرية للموساد بإحدى العواصم الأوروبية، وذلك لتسجيل جلسات التعاون بين مخابرات أوروبية وشرقية مع إسرائيل قي بداية السبعينيات.
وكان جبريل قد تولي رئاسة المخابرات العامة المصرية من 1983 إلى 1986وخرج من الخدمة برتبة فريق أول، ليعين بعدها رئيسًا لجهاز الأمن القومي المصري،ثم مستشارًا مخابراتيًا لمصر في السعوديةإلي أن توفي في 14 ديسمبر 2009.

He served as the head of the National Security Agency.

Baruch Merzahi arrested

Luring the spy Heba Selim

Jibril had assumed the presidency of the Egyptian General Intelligence from 1983 to 1986, and he left the service with the rank of first team, after which he was appointed head of the Egyptian National Security Agency, then an intelligence advisor to Egypt in Saudi Arabia, until he died on December 14, 2009.
